Proceeds from Songs from an Unmade Bed will benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Trevor Project.
Special guests Debra Barsha, Max Chernin, Darius De Haas, Alexis Michelle, Manu Narayan, Zak Resnick, John Riddle, Elizabeth Stanley, Davóne Tines, BD Wong, and others join original cast member Michael Winther to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the musical, Songs from an Unmade Bed. Opening at New York Theatre Workshop in 2005, this highly acclaimed solo musical explores the romantic life of a gay man in New York in witty, romantic and moving songs created by the Tony, Pulitzer and Grammy Award winning team of one lyricist and 18 composers. This special event will be helmed by the show’s original music director, Kimberly Grigsby, and feature its original percussionist, Shane Shanahan, and cellist Christopher Cortez. The evening will conclude with the premiere of a new song by lyricist Mark Campbell and composer Jake Landau in a short tribute to the show’s original director, the late David Schweizer.
